She was fresh, she was tomorrow, she was Alaska's Mary Poppins

Warning: The below photo montage is satire. Political satire. The author in no way means to imply that she believes that Sarah Palin is a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious GOP VP candidate, governor, mommy or nanny. The author does take full credit for the montage, unless, of course, it is illegal, in which case she will hire Bush's attorneys and have them get back to you.

“She just floated along like Mary Poppins.”

"Once Elected, Palin Hired Friends and Lashed Foes"

Yes, it appears that of Governor Palin's cabinet and list of government appointees reads like a Who's Who of Wasilla High, also from the NYT article:

"As she assembled her cabinet and made other state appointments, those with insider credentials were now on the outs. But a new pattern became clear. She surrounded herself with people she has known since grade school and members of her church."

Back in Wasilla, they just dressed alike on Palin's city council,
but once in Juneau, Palin's people like to show their hometown spirit:

Gives a whole new meaning to Casual Fridays.

Just imagine photos with McCain from the Rose Garden.
....

"Liar, liar, set your pants on fire!"

and they don't care, as long as they win.

"While the media is slowly starting to call the McCain campaign on their dishonest tactics, McCain’s staff boasts that they don’t care. As a McCain spokesman told the Politico, 'We’re running a campaign to win. And we’re not too concerned about what the media filter tries to say about it.'"
-- NBC's First Read, "Wheels Come off the Straighttalk Express?"

And Greg Sargeant on TPM Election Central in his post "McCain's Lying Has Gone Too Far, According To ... Karl Rove!" made sure we all caught Karl Rove with Chris Wallace on Fox News, just in case some of us don't ever turn it on, except on YouTube, providing the precise moment where Rove admits it's over the Palin:

WALLACE: All right, and for fair game, what is McCain doing that goes a step too far?

ROVE: Well, McCain has gone in some of his ads -- similarly gone one step too far, and sort of attributing to Obama things that are, you know, beyond the 100-percent-truth test.

He is also obligated to point out that Obama himself is doing a little exaggerating, but one couldn't call his remarks about McCain's opponent scathing or anything. Let's play the video...

Palin-Peget: a New Age of Terror
from the right-wing of American political conservatism

Not in this America's future!

Now, I'd really love to talk about why I am not writing off the Palin-Peget threat in America that Frank Rich gives us to make sure we have nightmares (I have to drink warm milk with honey before I finally allow myself to try to go to bed at 2 AM) in his September 13 NYT OpEd "The Palin-Whatshisname Ticket", especially in light of even Judith Warner's blog "No laughing Matter" -- say what you will about Judith Warner, but these people are real, they are likely voters, we don't know exactly how many there are and whether they force their college-age children to vote their ticket --, but I have to go work on my drawings for the renovations.

That was the upside of no Internet for 3 days. I got going.
