That's really the very, very nicest thing I think anyone who isn't a Teabagger could think to call them. All the other republicans had to join the Democrats and the Independents in November, and I'd bet they'd really like to have their political party back.

C'mon. It's time to get this done.

My capitalist French friends know it's all true, but it's so hard for them to wrap their cerveaux around this and accept that it can be, "Mais, why do you not stop thees?"

When politicians get accused of being in the pockets of the private financial interests here, well, they've got nothing on the USA. Must be some sort of decency that comes from centuries of feudal history or something that prevents such boldfaced indecency as Americans appear to feel is justified.

C'mon! We can do better. Yes we can.

Why doesn't this make sense to everyone? If we're going to let the GOP off the hook (like they're practically begging us to do so they can save their derrières in their constituencies, and let's be kind and let them do it, shall we?) and carry health care insurance reform on our own, why not just go ahead and do it right? The government can hire a few of those the private insurance companies will have to lay off, and then the industry can just divvy up 1% of Cigna CEO Steve Hemsley's salary this year and give golden parachutes to all the rest.

The lucky ones.

I'll bet he doesn't even know how good we have it here in France, either.
