Where is this Le Fay? Or are you using it to reference Witches' Gardens? Information, please.

It is near Blois. No reference to anything but a family home in which I had reason to be staying. Possibly served several centuries ago as a place to stay for pilgrims walking to Saint Jacques de Compostelle.

Merci.

I want this place!! The square tower roof is something I've been searching for. The towers are staircases between the floors? The caretaker is a busy person.

The caretaker is indeed a very busy person.

The towers contain various things. One, at the right of the entrance, looking up the lawn lined with pruned conifers, contains the stair to the hall and the attic above. The one to the left contains a little library space and there is a half-stair leading to two bedrooms in the attic of the part that was added in the 17 century and that has been updated.
The other two towers, at the rear and dominating the large lawn, contain small bedrooms, one with a sleeping loft over a desk and bookshelves.

On the main floor of the old house are three bedrooms, including the master bedroom, a bath and powder room, and the kitchen. The family living space is in the 17th c addition, with a storage and furnace area and those two attic bedrooms, accessible from an outdoor stair. There is also a little round half-tower, that s used as a TV room off the living and dining space. You can see it from the very large window at the rear of the house, that gives onto the terrace and main lawn.

There is a tennis court and a little cabana in the woods, and a small bathing "bassin" in the lawn immediately in front of the gravel drive in front of the house. A little odd, that.

It is being rented for weekly periods for the first time now, if ever you are interested.

Love it. I'm guessing one could rent the cabana or one of the rooms? The after-the-fact wiring reminds me of places in the French Quarter, NO. I wonder if the bassin in front had been a pool or horse-watering trough? Bathing bassin? Keeping everything up front??

The bathing "bassin" was always just that, created by my brother-in-law's father. It might have been "improved". There is a sad story attached to it. One of their sons drowned in the bassin when he was about 2 years old.

No one has ever been injured by the wiring, however.

I think it goes in the 2,000 euros a week range.

So it's a complete package... a little out of my price range... So sad about the petit fils.. I might have filled in the bassin were it mine. The wiring should be fine as long as it is in good conduit. I'll have to find a photo of wiring in The Quarter in an alley way I believe... I'll post it and let you know. The childrens' names are so French, the dog's name so American. I had a growing-up friend nicknamed "Skipper" Vencil -- The last name is probably of French origin, I just realized!! But what a beautiful piece of real estate!!
